Arra még idehaza várni kell egy pár hetet, hogy össze tudjuk hasonlítani, nemcsak azért mert még nem szállítják, de azért is mert utána még még 3-4 hetet járatni is kell.

Introducing CD5si

Naim has launched its new entry-level CD player the CD5si. The CD5si is a step forward in performance from its predecessor the CD5i with improvements to several key areas to significantly improve sound quality.
 
The new CD5si design includes the Burr Brown PCM 1793 DAC, which is similar in performance and architecture to the DAC used in Naim’s award-winning network players such as the NDX but is more optimised for the fixed sampling rate of CD (rather than the many sampling rates from streamed music). A new higher precision clock supports the new DAC, reducing jitter even further. The analogue output filter has also been improved which together with the new DAC delivers a ten times reduction in distortion.
 
A new high-performance transport mechanism has been fitted to the CD5si giving improved consistency and longevity. The new mechanism is mounted in Naim’s unique improved swing drawer tray giving it the ideal low resonance, stable platform in which to operate. The internal power supply voltage has also been increased, to improve the linearity of the output signal for greater sound quality.
 
The CD5si CD player, especially when partnered with the complementary NAIT 5i integrated amplifier, sets a thrilling new standard for the musical performance of entry-level hi-fi.
 
With so much focus on audio streaming and downloads it might seem easy to forget the humble CD. But not at Naim. After all, the CD is still by far the World's most popular music format and for millions of music enthusiasts compact disc collections still constitute the heart and soul of precious music libraries. This outstanding machine, which replaces the previous CD5i, brings worthwhile performance benefits for users but retains the functionality and straightforward usability of the classic player. The CD5si is designed to be the best in its class, incorporating genuine technological advances to provide a thoroughly enjoyable musical experience.
 
New for 2012:
 
1. New and improved DAC section – including Burr Brown PCM1793 DAC chip (similar to that used in the SuperUniti and NDX except it’s hardware controlled because it doesn’t need to adjust for different sample rates). The filter stage and clock have also been improved. The result is dramatically lower outer band noise than the CD5i for greater sound quality.
 
2. New high-performance CD mechanism – with new and improved laser-optics and silent door operation.
 
3. New analogue filter stages – specially selected through listening tests for their beneficial effect on sound quality.
 
4. Internal PSU voltage increased - for improved linearity of the output signal and subsequently greater sound quality.

Egy vélemény a Naim fórumról, egy joesilva nevű levelezőtől, aki hallotta tegnap a kiállításon az S800-at.
 
"I arrived relatively early on the first day of the show and had a chance to have a listen before the crowds arrived. Despite difficult show conditions such as a huge room, thousands of other audio components being plugged in to essentially the same power source, and a great deal of background noise from other exhibitors, the active S 800's sounded awesome, undoubtedly the best Naim speaker I've ever heard by a wide margin. They were difficult to fault, and sonically do not resemble the S 600 or S 400 in any way, other than their shape. Not only are the bass drive units a completely new design, but apparently so is the BMR. Integration of the BMR to the bass appeared pretty seamless as far as I could tell, but its difficult to say for sure as they only played four pieces of music which were all unfamiliar to me. I enjoyed the sweet mid, the effortless dynamics, the bloom, the sense of space and timing that the Naim system offered, all world class IMHO. It was easily one of two or three systems that were the best at the show as far as I was concerned, and the others were all way more expensive. Congratulations to Paul, Roy and all the others at Naim that helped to make the S 800 a worthy successor to the DBL's.

nDAC/555PS/HiLine/NAC552/Powerline/NAP500/Audience Conductor DIN-XLR kábel rendszerben Mana és Naim FraimLite asztalkákon. Ja és a NAC172 XS, mint tuner és hálózati játszó, szintén Audience Conductor DIN - RCA kábellel. Nagyon lehet szeretni.
 
Az ígéretek szerint valamikor karácsony táján fogják szállítani az S800-at.
