Magico S5 Loudspeaker
 
After an incredible five years since the Magico V3’s first release, we are excited to introduce its successor, the S5. This three-way, four-driver floorstanding loudspeaker borrows heavily from the peerless Q-Series' technological arsenal and employs new manufacturing techniques to create what is the most value-laden Magico loudspeaker yet.
 
The eye will be first drawn to the S5’s uniquely new curved enclosure, which is the world’s first utilization of ½” thick, 16” diameter extruded aluminum walls in a loudspeaker. Taking design cues from our iconic Mini, the cabinet design minimizes diffraction effects, internal resonance, and damping requirements. The elegant, paintable exterior offers a shallow profile that will complement a wide variety of end-user living environments. Available in our signature black anodized finish, the S5 is also offered in an array of high gloss and satin M-COAT® paint blends. A removable black grille is included – a first for a Magico speaker.
 
Incorporating entirely new dual-10” Magico hybrid Nano-Tec® bass drivers, the S5 is capable of an astonishing output of 118dB (@ 50Hz-1 meter). Combining an outer cone ring of aluminum and a Magico Nano-Tec dust cap, the new drivers combine superb power handling in the low bass with distortion-free response at the top of their pass band.
 
The S5 midrange's dual neodymium, underhung motor system with pure titanium voice coil former is powerfully efficient and extremely low in distortion.
 
The tweeter is a beryllium diaphragm model found in selected competitors’ $100,000+ reference offerings.
A new neodymium motor system has been customized to match the S5’s huge dynamic capabilities and power handling, while retaining its inherent wide dispersion and low distortion. As with all Magico drivers, the latest custom computer simulations are used to optimize electromagnetic and thermal behavior.
 
Magico will be showing the S5 at CES 2012 in Las Vegas in the Magico Suite: Venetian Towers,
Suite 35-209.

A Spectral-lal meg kifejezetten jó párost alkotnak, de ezt ők is tudják.
A Solution-nal már közel sem olyan jók együtt. Még a Devialet-tel is jobb volt, mint a Solution-nal.
De az igazi a Spectral-lal.


Kettő baj van a Spectrallal, 1) hogy önmagára korlátozza a rendszert. Spectral csak spectrallal működik nagyszerűen, más komponensekkel korántsem annyira átütő! 2) pedig a MIT Spectral kábelezés korlátja.
 
Egy csúcs digitális összeállítás esetén kiváló lehet a homogén Spectral rendszer szinergiája, de egy felső kategóriás analog lánc építése esetén a Spectral előfok lesz a gyenge láncszem. A Spectralnál jóval jobb phono-előfokok állíthatóak rendszerbe mint egy homogén Spectral rendszer esetén. Én analogos lévén, bár többször találkoztam Spectral rendszerekkel és komponensekkel, pont az előfok phono-fokozat kapcsán döntöttem úgy, hogy NEM választok Spectralt. Digitális út esetén viszont kiváló döntés lehet a márka.

Avalon Osiris, the "cost is no object" loudspeakers from Avalon! More than 1000kg packed in their wooden crates. Only 16 pairs of this very special loudspeakers were made by Avalon. Neil Patel of Avalon has used all of his knowhow, with disregard to costs, to design this statement loudspeaker. The Osiris produces a realistic and holographic musical image and does with an exceptional ease that can only be expected by a large system.
 
These loudspeakers are not extremely difficult to drive, even without the use of "megawatt" amps one can obtail excellent results, as long as the amplification is of a very high level. Each loudspeaker consists of 4 parts, one top with mid/high drivers, one (closed) enclosure with the bass drivers and two filter units for both mid/high and low section.
 
Included with this system are all original spikes, jumpers, transportcrates, manual and historic pricelist. This "walnut burl" finish had an additional cost and brought the newprice to almost 100.000 euro (from an historic perspective not high enough to cover production costs). Now these reference Avalons are available for 19.500 euro.

Wilson Audio announced the Alexandria XLF floor standing loudspeakers positioned above the existing Alexandria X-2 Series 2, which will continue in production.
 
The XLF designation refers to Wilson's new bass management system. This simple system will allow users to optimize bass quality and extension to match the characteristics of the sound room. Since the system is completely passive, it avoids the sonic pitfalls endemic to all active bass management systems.
 
While instantly recognizable as an Alexandria, the XLF loudspeaker has undergone a major cosmetic revision. Additionally, using Wilson's latest cabinet-analysis tools, Wilson's engineers lowered the already vanishingly low resonant contribution of the enclosure using the latest composite materials, including S-material.

Price and Availability
The Wilson Audio Alexandria XLF will be available early 2012 for $195,000.00 (U.S). Orders are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Addition details will be announced on December 15, 2011.
