Miert fontos az, hogy a lexicon vagy a monolith ujabb? Nekem lexiconom van es minden letezo szabvanyt ismer. Gondolom a monolith is.
Things I really dislike about the Lexicon:
- The Lexicon menu / interface is VERY rudimentary. Coming from Denon, it's hard to step back into a menu from the 1990's. And, I'm a tech guy...
- You can only set once crossover for floor speakers, one for "Dolby" (Atmos), and that's about it. - Not that this is necessarily needed, but my front L&R are a full range speaker w/ 2 12" woofers in each...
- There's no wifi, and the system doesn't integrate currently with Simply Control (which I've used for everything else). This 2nd part isn't the fault of Lexicon, I attribute it to more of it not being as popular of a unit / brand.
- No option to save more than one Dirac filter. So, if you want a separate one for Music, or another mode (like screen up vs down), you're out of luck
- Doesn't auto select sound modes based in input (Dolby in, or DTX in, and you have to manually change over to those modes)
- Just a lack of overall customization throughout the menu at all
- The original "calibrated" mic that came with the Lexicon was cheap, and was throwing some really bad measurements. Picking up a UMIK-1 fixed this immediately, but for a $6k unit, this shouldn't have been skimped on. I think my mic was bad, or something was off, but for this money, I shouldn't have had to deal w/ that...
- No multi sub calibration option. I wound up setting up a MiniDSP, and used Harman's SFM for timing, offset, etc. TBH however, the MiniDSP probably a superior option. I've yet to really test the SFM settings as I just got them today, but initial listening is that it works incredibly well
- Not a lot on best practices, online information, reviews, end user results / feedback
- Being the same product as Arcam, just more money (w/ a few tweaks)
- It's forced me to learn how to use REW, a MiniDSP, Dirac, Etc. However, for most, this would be very prohibitive. I don't have many friends that'd ever go through this process. However, this unit is likely intended to be installed and calibrated professionally
The things I like about the Lexicon:
- It's far more clear in every channel, and in about every way. I can really pick out individual sounds, voices, things happening off screen (like someone working on a construction site in the distance, or other items happening off screen), and sound is simply cleaner.
- At times, I wonder if there's something wrong with the speaker, then I realize its the recording. There's incredible transparency, especially with musical instruments
- Dirac is a nice feature once setup - after going through it a bunch of times, I've come to appreciate it. I've also learned many things they don't tell you (but have told the manufactures / engineers / dealers / etc) that all make a difference in the setup, and many that don't. For example, measuring the MLP is the most important, than after that taking measurements that are within 2ft around it, are all that are really needed. I've got many more items, but it definitely wasn't as straight forward.
- Logic7 does a really great job for 2 channel in
- Listening to music, or movies, at higher volumes doesn't come across as loud. Everything just sort of works together the way it should.
- Cleaner center, voices, etc.
- Customization w/ Dirac and filters - something that I couldn't ever do w/ my Denon
